David Gil posted a new pitch

The "iPod" generation is enjoying more music on-the-go and at home than any other previous generation. The ease with which music is downloaded and enjoyed has made it a more common part of everyday life, however, this same musical freedom is leading to dangerous behaviors.
The average
#iPod owner listens to his/her music at over 100dB. Some listeners enjoy their music at over 110. As a frame of reference about 65dB is normal talk, and 85dB is considered the breaking point between dangerous and safe levels of listening. The reason so many people listen to music too loud is because they're trying to hear the details of their music while playing over any ambient noise. At 100dB, it only takes between 20-30 minutes to start causing PERMINANT hearing loss.
If you can clearly hear the music from someone's earphones playing a few feet away, they're destroying their hearing. For more information visit the link attached. Contact me if you have any questions at

@david you are absolutely right! having a teen living with us, it is hard to get this message to her, as she claimed that with lower volume she can hardly hear the music.

@ewdi it's a pretty big issue, especially with younger and younger children listening to more and more music....trying to tune out parents or other adults. That's why using in-ears offers the best, not only for performance, but for safety. Any in-ears with isolating qualities, not just ours (though ours are the best :-))
